So interesting how the world of organics and eating healthy is truly at the forefront of many peoples minds at this point. Every where you look from Wednesdays New York Times article of vacationing on a farm in the Dining Guide to yesterdays Tropical Life article on Vegan baking. The girl featured was a 16 year old high school student. She attends a high school I know and love. She has been vegan and baking since the age of 14...impressive. Her baked goods are now sold in a local bookstore. She is hoping to open her own bakery one day. I know I didn't have her convictions at her age, hats off to her awareness of our world and health concerns.
The owner Gaby Larrea of Peace A" Cake is also quoted, he and his partner have been selling vegan desserts since February. He went vegan for health, his partner "for health, the environment, everything" (partner is Veronica Menin).
Pizza Fusion is opening slowly around the country, pizza with local and organic toppings. Lets support our world...support these Mom and Pops leading us into the next movement. It is here, it is smart, it is mindful, and it is being consciously aware of our place in this beautiful planet we all share. xo Ginny
